Ceramics Residencies for SCHOOL GROUPS
at Atali Ganga and Camp Bagi

Set in the beautiful surroundings of the lower Garhwal Himalaya, this program offers students a unique opportunity to interact with nature, explore their creativity through ceramics and participate in a variety of exciting outdoor activities!

We have run this course for the following

Summary of the program:

  • A five to seven day program for High-school students combining Ceramics and outdoor/cultural activities
  • Typical group size 12 to 20 students (plus chaperones)
  • Offered between October and March
  • Typical day = most of the day working on ceramics and one outdoor/cultural activity
  • Each student comes away with 5 to 7 completed ceramic pieces made by her/him
  • Students are instructed in hand-building, wheel work and also  participate in an “alternative firing” process
  • Venue for the sessions is a resort called Atali Ganga, 30 kms from Rishikesh.  Easily accessible by:
    • Train to Haridwar or Dehradun
    • Air to Jolly Grant Airport at Dehradun
    • Road from New Delhi
  • Two types of accommodation offered to suit different learning objectives / budgets
    • Fixed tents at Camp Aquaterra with flush toilets (twin sharing for students)

The duration and course content/structure are customised to meet the specific goals of the school.  We have a ‘menu’ of activities the school administration can use to design the program such that it meet the learning objectives for their group of students.  These activities include a mix of medium/intermediate level adventure activities, soft adventure activities as well as some cultural options specific to the Garhwal region in which the course is being conducted.
